Speaking during a visit to mosques in Bordj Bou Arréridj province north of the country, Youssef Belmehdi added that mosques and Quranic schools enhance the national identity of Algeria, Aps.dz website reported.
He referred to the inauguration of mosques and religious centers built by the ministry with the help of benefactors, and stressed the government’s resolve to serve the religion.
Belmehdi said establishing Quranic schools and mosques paves the way for promotion of moderation and peace and prevention of violence and extremism.
He further expressed the ministry’s readiness to welcome the holy month of Ramadan (April) and said programs in mosques will be held in compliance with the health protocols to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
